Boost Your Collagen and Elastin!
Collagen and elastin are the proteins in your skin that give it shape and firmness. As we age not only do we lose collagen and elastin but our bodies slow down the production of it. Less collagen and elastin leads to wrinkles, lax or saggy skin and can give someone a "gaunt" look.
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive treatment aimed at stimulating collagen and elastin production. It involves controlled micro puncture of the skin with very tiny needles.
Microneedling can rejuvenate your skin and help give you back a firmer, healthier looking glow by stimulating the skin to produce collagen and elastin. Who doesn't want firmer healthier skin?
What is PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is the plasma part of the blood which contains platelets. When blood is put into a centrifuge and spun at a specific rate and time, the plasma containing all the platelets is separated from the red blood cells. The end product is a pale yellowish liquid (lovingly referred to as liquid gold). This "liquid gold" or PRP contains more than 30 bioactive proteins, including seven fundamental protein growth factors that are actively secreted and play a fundamental role in tissue healing.
How does it work?
A series of radio-frequency energy is delivered by a succession of pulses at 1 million cycles per second. While this may sound intense, it is very safe. To maximize comfort, the body’s temperature will be constantly monitored, with ongoing accurate feedback of the skin’s temperature. This thermal monitoring provides the utmost in temperature control.
Does it hurt?
You will notice redness and warmth in the treated area which will subside after a few hours. This warmth is equivalent to the sensation felt after a deep tissue massage and will not prevent anyone from their regular activities.
How many treatments will I need?
It is recommended that treatments are performed on a weekly basis. The number of treatments can vary and will be determined after having your consultation.
